ABOUT THE PROJECT

DOVE181 is inviting artists living with disability to express their interest in collaborating on an upcoming children’s colouring book.

This project will feature illustrations that represent disability — especially children with disability — within everyday, mainstream settings such as school, home, play, and community life. The aim is educational: to help young people grow up seeing disability as a natural part of the world around them, while increasing visibility and understanding across the wider community.

Artists are invited to register their interest to be part of the project and contribute artwork that reflects lived experience. Selected contributors will help shape a resource designed for classrooms, families, and community spaces.

ABOUT CHENOA - FOUNDER OF DOVE181

Hi, I’m Chenoa, and I founded DOVE181.

I’m a business owner and support worker, and a lot of my life has been spent alongside people in the disability community. I’m also the mum of a young adult with autism, which has shaped how I see the world in ways I couldn’t have imagined earlier in life. These experiences are at the heart of why DOVE181 exists.

I believe in creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves — not rushed, not judged, just accepted. I care deeply about honesty, patience, and meeting people where they’re at. These values guide the work I do every day and form the foundation of DOVE181.

I’m passionate about encouraging others to grow into who they are, in their own time and in their own way. Through DOVE181, my hope is to support people to feel seen, valued, and empowered — and to help build a community where everyone can thrive as their full, authentic selves.
